Sagen Energy Efficient Housing Program
The Sagen Energy Efficient Housing Program provides up to a 25% Mortgage Insurance Premium refund when you make energy-efficient improvements to your home.

Homeowners who have a Sagen-insured mortgage and are purchasing an energy-efficient home or renovating to improve energy efficiency

Application must be submitted within 24 months of the closing date of the mortgage

Eligibility Requirements
- You must have a Sagen-insured mortgage product.
- You must have an EnerGuide Home Evaluation before and after your efficiency improvements are made.
- Must provide a copy of the first page of the pre-upgrade and the first page of the post-upgrade EnerGuide Home Evaluation reports prepared by the Energy Advisor.
- Sagen must receive all mortgage insurance premiums and fees prior to issuing the partial premium refund.
- Home must meet all minimum energy efficient program requirements based on your date of application for mortgage insurance.
- The date of the premium refund application cannot be greater than 24 months from the closing date of the mortgage.
- All supporting energy efficient documentation cannot be greater than 5 years old.

How to Apply
- Complete a pre-upgrade EnerGuide Home Evaluation before you begin your efficiency upgrades.
- Complete your recommended upgrades.
- Complete a post-upgrade EnerGuide Home Evaluation after you complete all of your efficiency upgrades.
- Compare your pre- and post-upgrade EnerGuide Ratings to determine your eligibility for the Sagen Energy-Efficient Housing Program of 15% or 25% Mortgage Insurance Premium refund.
- Apply online or download and complete the PDF version to apply by mail.
- Refunds are processed and mailed within 30 business days of receipt of application.
